In 2014, Vincent Melilli started ESAV Production – 8 years after he founded ESAV Film School (École Supérieure des Arts Visuels de Marrakech) – in order to create an outlet for the arrival on the market of the young professionals trained at Morocco's first film school.
ESAV PRODUCTION’s aim was to create a structure in which these young professionals felt at home, in a shared and inspiring environment where they could continue to learn, exchange, debate and sharpen their eye on the world around them, in order to tell stories, bear witness to reality, and make films.
In 2023, Sara Sellami and Vincent Melilli joined forces to breathe new life into Liberté Films.
Having produced several short films, and honed its skills with numerous institutional and commercial productions, ESAV Production moved into new offices at 36 Rue de la Liberté in Marrakesh.
The new address gave the company its name, which the partners see as a symbol of the high standards that will mark the outfit’s new identity, and an inspiration to pursue the initial project of a common home and a space for freedom of expression and creation.
